My wife, Carolyn, and I live in Minnesota, USA. She has many ancestors in France. In Bischwiller, Bas-Rhin we found many Kobbet , Cobbet ancestors.

From LDS films we found Johannes Kobbet or Kobbeth to be the father of Samuel Cobbet b.1682 and Benedict Kobbet b. 1681.

Benedict in Bischwiller, son of deceased Johannes, married in 1709 Maria Ester Reinbold.

Samuel in Gries,Bas-Rhin, son of Johannes, marrried Maria Catharina Ernwein.

Johannes Kobbet is listed as Schirmsverwandte - a newcomer without full rights of a citizen, but with protection or preferential treatment.

We wish to find a birth place and date of birth for Johannes Kobbet and birth place for his sons Benedict and Samuel.

2. Birthplaces for Benedict b. 1681 and Samuel b. 1682
