Districts in the Czech Republic
I originally posed my question on this subject in the "Discussion Format" rather than the "Question Format" and thanks to Cindy Jarvis I have been shown the error of my ways. Thank You Cindy.
Here is my original post in "Question Format":
Since so many village names in the Czech Republic are repeated throughout the country, I am looking for a way to Identify my Ancestor's villages exact locations.
I understand that the District names, (Okres) in the Czech Republic are all unique. I would like to use this unique feature to further identify the location of my Ancestors villages.
My question: Is there a web site I can go to and enter the name of my Ancestor's village or Parish and have it return the name or names of the Districts it is located in?
For example: I have Ancestors from the village of Chrast, in the Pardubice Region, in the District of Chrudim. I would then record this location in my database as
Chrast, Chrudim, Bohemia, Czech Republic.
If there is a better way of identifying exact geographic locations in the Czech Republic I am certainly willing to consider them.
Thank You
Lou Klapka

Yes, if you look up the village on https://en.mapy.cz/ it will give you the name of the modern district. You can also get the historical district from the gazetteer on https://genteam.at/, or the Czech parish finder pages on the FamilySearch wiki: https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Czech_Republic_Parish_Finder.

Also, check out en.Mapy.cz. They also have historic maps there.
