Seeking the ancestors of Frederick Brim (FSID LCC2-42L); resident of Cazenovia NY, census records 17
Frederick's death is recorded as 1820, Wheatland NY. His wife Margaret Eunice Merrick, sons Alexander, Andrew, Alfred, and Vanness, and daughters Jane and Permelia are listed as members of the Church in Kirtland. Their names are also found in the Nauvoo records.
The only written documentation I have found for the birthplace of Frederick is a Salt Lake Temple ordinance record from December 1898-January 1899, which states that Frederick Brim's birthplace is "Holland." George Brim, son of Frederick's son, Alexander, performed the temple ordinances on behalf of his grandfather Frederick. Accordingly, it is assumed that George is the source of the information in the temple record. George's father, Alexander, died in 1872, 27 years before the date of the temple record, so he was not a contemporaneous source of the birthplace information. In fact, all of Frederick's children were dead in 1899. The last to die was Alfred Wallace, who died in 1897.

New York was the intake state for many immigrants. You might try immigration records, which will often list family members in groups. Sometimes it will give country of origin or port of origin. If Frederick immigrated to the US as a child or young man you might find other family members this way.
Also check land and probate records for the time and area they lived.
