I am completely stuck about how to find my grandmother's and grandfather's family and relatives.
My grandparents were both from Gattinara, in Piemonte. They immigrated to US in 1906 & 1907, married in US. I have been unable to find any records related to my grandmother or family (Guselfino) or my grandfather or family (Scribante) before US arrival. I am stumped about their parents (my great grand parents) and the names of my grandparents siblings, I don't seem to find anything on line to help. I obviously don't know what I'm doing! Can someone head me in a direction?

Sorry, they are not on line... Maybe someone can tell us how to get records that are at the granite mountain. I suppose, one can always try the (Ufficio dello Stato Civile) Registrar office in Gattinara, Velletri or the Parish there as well.
Sorry, good luck

try here... URP means Public Relations Office.

http://www.sanpietrogattinara.it/contatti/ (Parish - fill the form)

You might want to set up a consultation with a staff member from the FHL to go over what you've done already. They should be able to offer you more research suggestions and having a one-on-one conversation might be more helpful in this instance. Here's the link to set one up. https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Family_History_Library_Online_Consultations

Hi @TeyaW TeyaW do not be discouraged! Do you already have a tree in Family Search? In case you don't have one, I suggest you to start with that, setting as much information as possible, even if not complete. In any case, could you please be a little bit more precise about your grandparents and their families? For example where they married and lived in US, their children's relevant facts so names, places and dates for them... All other info you may know 😁 thank you for your patience, regards Massimo

According to: http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.it/the-land-and-the-sources/?lang=en, the records for Vercelli province, which has Gattinara, is still scheduled for digitization, but obviously not done yet. I checked the Ellis Island site, and there are records for a couple of Scribante in 1906 and it shows they were born early 1870's. That puts them near the early end of one of the collections cited above (when they are digitized).

Hi @TeyaW TeyaW into this catalog (Registri dello stato civile di Vercelli (Provincia), 1800-1913) it seems are data for Gattinara for both 1873 and 1878 (among others). The description of the catalog says: Births, marriages, marriage documents, deaths, annual and ten-year indexes from the civil registration archive in Vercelli, Italy. Includes the following localities: Agogna, Alagna, ... omissis... Gattinara.....
I tried to open Gattinara 1873 and 1878 but there are some restrictions to view these images. The shown message says: "you have to do one of the following:Access the site at a family history center or Access the site at a FamilySearch affiliate library."
You can try to access your-self or ask if someone can access the online catalog and look for your relatives or go to the nearest FamilySearch affiliate library.
I hope it may help! Regards Massimo

You may call the Family history library at BYU and they will have people there who can help you with research. 801-422-6200. They are not open to the public but they have supervisors there all day Wednesdays.
