Hi,

Can someone help with translating this marriage record for me, please? I really appreciate everybody's help!

It’s for my 5th great grand-parents Francesco Casano and Rosa Rizzo, in 1765.

Wow, this is going to give me the names of my 6th great grand-parents! Unbelievable!

This is my first time getting a 6th great-grandparent!

Francesco son of Francesco Cusano, and of Maria Brignone, married couple, single man from this island, and Rosa daughter of Michele Rizzo, and of Caterina Casano, married couple, likewise single woman from this island, having made three proclamations on three festive days, those days being first 1st January, second 6th, third 13th of the same month of this same said year 1765, and no legitimate or canonical impediment detected, otherwise with due observance, were united in marriage by coadjutor Don Giovanni Lo P-into before witnesses Don Carlo Aiello, Andrea Gucciardo, and Giuseppe Brignone, and afterward in the sacrifice of the Mass received the marital blessing.

Awesome, @Cousin Vinny, very much appreciated! 😊 Now I have my first (2 pairs) of 6th great grandparents!

The further back I go the tougher it is reading these documents! 😂 Their handwriting is worse than mine and I have absolutely horrendous handwriting! 😆

I have 2 additional questions for you if you don't mind.

I'm assuming that they were married in the Parish of Santissimo Salvadore (or Salvatore) in Pantellerìa? And 2) any assumption as to why that word is banned? I couldn't find anything in google.

The record is from SS Salvatore so my assumption is they were married there. The other churches in town were filial churches and the major sacraments were celebrated at the matrice.
