Another tagging issue--putting a different name than what I enter
I realize you are working on tagging, but here is a problem that showed up tonight.
I was tagging Johann Heinrich Conrad Trikken G1ND-64H in entries for his 3 sons. I tagged his wife first, Juliana Heinen G1ND-YFL. When I tagged Johann, it showed up as Juliana Heinen (male) attached to Johann. I deleted it and re-tagged several times, but could not change it. I deleted, uploaded the memory to Johann's record and tried to tag from there, but no luck.
Now, however, it looks like the tags are correct. I'm not sure if it was something I did or if the tags needed time to resolve themselves? Why did this happen in the first place?

First, I just wanted to say, it sounds like you are really trying to do amazing work for these ancestors. Encountering so many tagging problems is probably terribly frustrating. I am so sorry!
Let me ask some people on my team to see if we can get a good answer for you.
Again, I apologize for the inconvenience and ask for your patience. Thank you!

Thanks for your concern. I AM trying to cram a lot of work into a short amount of time because I have just a 3-month subscription to Archion (German church records). The records there are not indexed, so the only way to make sources is to take a screenshot, put it in Memories, then make a Memory source. 😋 That's why I'm doing so much tagging.
I understand the team is working on these tags, so don't worry about getting answers for me. I just wanted to describe specific issues in the hopes it might help the process. 😁

Thanks again for the specific feedback. This information helps so many others!

I think I've been able to replicate this problem. See if this is similar to your scenario:
I go to my GALLERY add a tag to a memory. I want to add Stanley West, GBRT-4SW, to one Memory.
I find Stanley and click to tag him. The tag is correct on the right side of my screen. But, for some strange reason, the tag name on the Memory (left side) is now Stan GUTNEBY. I do not believe I have ever used/seen/typed Gutneby.
When I go to Stanley's person page, and his Memories, I see that the tag is there, with the correct information, but the TAG NAME is Stan Gutneby. I tried to clear my history/cookies. But it still has Gutneby.

Yes @AmberML1. I got to it in a slightly different way, but that sounds the same as what I have encountered.
The tag links to the correct PERSON ID, but the TAG NAME is wrong. Sometimes it is a nonsense name (as you encountered), sometimes it is someone else's name, sometimes it is a name I previously used for that person but have changed.
Reloading the page, deleting the tag and re-tagging, clearing history—nothing seems to help.
I'm interested, however, to see if you still have the wrong tab name when you go back and look later. As I mentioned, one of mine seemed to have resolved when I got back to it. I just checked a few others I could remember that had the problem and they were okay too! I'm not sure how this could happen.🤔

I've been playing around a bit more, and I'm having lots of issues with this same problem.
I am also interested to see if it corrects itself soon, but I did refresh and clear cookies, and I'm not getting any thing to correct itself.
I'll make sure to share this with the Engineers.
Thanks for your help in trouble-shooting. Much appreciated!

Another example:
I just found another case tonight where the incorrect TAG NAME is not resolved. This is Johann Heinrich Gottfried Böcker L8R4-5H7. Originally I thought his name was Friedrich Böcker because that's what he used when he came to America. But his name at birth was the above, so I changed it (before I ever uploaded any Memories or made tags). However, all his Memories have the Tag Name Friedrich Böcker.

The tag name is independent of the person name (even though in many cases they will be the same). When they are different, you'll see one name on the right (that's the name of the person in Family Tree) and a different name when you hover over or click on a tag on the left side (the image), because that's the tag name.
If you are the owner/creator of the tag, then you can edit it following the steps I gave here.

Thank you @Alan E. Brown ! I was able to correct the ones I remembered.
I had tried a few times clicking on the Tag Name (since it was underlined), but didn't realize I could click on it in the new box to Edit. (The "Detach from Family Tree" button always made me leave quickly!)
This still doesn't explain WHY the names are showing up, but at least we can correct them.

I heard back from my Engineer. Here is some of what she had to say regarding this issue:
This is a known issue. It's a problematic system. The backend team is working hard to correct. Remember, though, the Tree Name and the PID are what matter most, and those will persist (that is the name viewed as the Tag on the right side of the screen in the Memory Viewer).
Yes, you can follow Alan's steps above to correct the mis-named Tag Name (seen on the image of the Memory).
However! The team is making changes! The page to edit the Tag Name will go away soon; it is being rebuilt for easier use.
