What are the parent's names on birth record?
I am looking for son Anders, father Lars Andersen, and mother Marit Christofersdatter. Family search says he was born 19 April 1861. I found a Anders on page 102, line 27, but it is hard to read the mothers name. Can someone let me know what the mothers name on page 102, line 27 is? Thanks!

I see Helge Olsdatter

Jonathan, it's a tough one because it has some strike through lines and ? The name appears to be in parenthesis. Maybe Helga ? Also, did you notice the very same entry on the child below? Makes me wonder what's happening. The 1865 census says the mother in the household is Marit Kresaforsdatter. (but you already have that name)

Anders' confirmation record is here (#13): https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/70851/90 . This shows the father as Lars Andersen Svorongen and his wife is Marit Kristofersdatter. This is the same child in your birth record and I agree with Tanner and Shari that the mother's name on the birth record is Helge Olsdatter. This must be another wife to Lars Andersen Svorongen but not the mother of Anders.

Based on
1) the 1865 census ( https://www.digitalarkivet.no/census/person/pf01038304000508 ) showing Lars and Marit with their five year old son Anders,
2) the marriage record for Lars and Marit ( https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20050614040609 ) 19 June 1859,
3) the birth record saying Anders is ægte, (This was a big deal. You can see in the record above Ander's that the notation uægte on that child was not only darker as if written with more pressure but it was also underlined).
4) the funny marks on the birth record associated with the mother's name that Shari points out,
5) having the same mother's name in two consecutive records,
6) the confirmation record that Norman found,
I would be very comfortable concluding that the birth record must be wrong in listing Helga Olsatter as Ander's mother and that his mother really is Marit Christofersdatter.
I read an article once regarding Norwegian parish birth records ( http://martinroe.com/blog/index.php/2016/02/02/the-norwegian-church-books/ ) which discussed the Ministerialbok and Klokkerbok and which might be considered more accurate. It mentioned that the Ministerialbok records for smaller areas were not necessarily recorded at the time of the christening. If the priest traveled between different congregations, he would record the christening on other papers then transcribe them in the Ministerialbok register when he got back to his home church days or even weeks later. Errors could creep in.

We all should have looked at the whole record! If you look all the way across the page to the right hand column of Ander's birth record, you will see this:
Note: Should be Marit Kristofersdatter – [signed] Müller
(NB = the Latin Nota Bene = in Norwegian Merk Vel - in English literally Mark Well or more loosely Take Note. Here double underlined for strong emphasis.)
Someone back then saw the error in the original entry and added this correction. That is why the extracted record from the IGI shows his correct mother:

Thanks for all the information!!! One question you number 3) you say ægte. What is ægte mean?

Your right, Marit Kristofersdatter is on the record. I never look that far over. In the future I will look at the entire line. Thanks!

Ægte means legitimate, uægte would be illegitimate.
