Translation Request - maybe?
Hi! I'm trying to decipher the last name of Anna Catharina, spouse of Johann Conrad Ose.
I don't know if the first letter is a "v" or if that was crossing something out? Maybe it's Smit? I haven't seen anything that looks like this last name yet. I'm still going through the records looking for something that might be close.
I keep seeing the same families with the same last names, but this doesn't look even remotely close to anything I have seen yet!
I just found this couple as the parents of my 6th great-grandfather. Anna Catharina died in 1723. I can't find any other children yet. I think he was their first and only child. And then he shows up later, but his last name changes to Koch. (He either was adopted or just wanted to change it?)
I'm just so happy to find his parents. But now I want to know his mother's maiden name.

Hello @Rachel S. Mullins,
Anna Catharina's maiden surname is written as "Schmit" in this record.
Keep an open mind when searching: Schmitt, Schmidt, Schmid, etc.

I read the name as Schmid or Schmit; the "S" is a bit of a mishap, but the following "ch" is pretty clear. Compare also the name "Schwarz" in the last record on the left page; it has the same "S"
The name of the groom is Joannes Georgius (Johann Georg) Ose.
