Tagging People in the new Memory Viewer can be simplified and improved. Here' one way
I uploaded a biography that I had written for one of my ancestors. I wanted to tag everyone mentioned in the biography but ran into some issues.
- After pressing the grey "Tag People" button in the memory viewer, I see a pop-up dialog box that has been populated with numerous "people". Many of these people are of no relation to me whatsoever and I there is no way to manage/delete these unknowns from the list.
Suggestion: Populate this box from my "Recents" list, at least that way they will be people that I've been looking at and will more likely be the individuals I want. And I can manage the list in the "Recents" area.
2. If the person I want to tag isn't in the dialog box, then I can enter a name or ID in the text box at the top of the pop-up dialog box. Rarely, when I have entered a PID does a link to an attached person on family tree appear. Instead, the PID is just copied into the list and I'm allowed to select it. Then I have to go into the "Information" dialog and the "Tagged People" frame on the right side of the window and find this PID in the "Unattached Tags" area. After expanding the "Unattached Tags", I see a link to "Attach to Tree" underneath the unattached tag I just created. When I click on the link, another pop-up dialog box appears prompting me to either search for the person's name or enter a PID provide, again, the PID and ten press the "Find ID" button. Finally I am asked to press the "Attach" button to complete the attachment process.
Suggestion: When the user provides a PID in the "Tag People" dialog box, just go find the PID in the tree and confirm the attachment. Don't make the user repeat the tedious process I described above. I had to enter 60 tags for my document, and this grew very, VERY, TEDIOUS.
