Interesting and Alarming Observations from looking at the Family Tree and the CET
I uploaded a GEDCOM created by Ancestry.com to create a CET. In looking at the entries I found a person who had more information in the Ancestry/GEDCOM than appeared in the FamilySearch Family Tree. In other words, the Ancestry/GEDCOM person had not been synced with the Family Tree person. To do this, I had the CET open in Ancestry and the FamilySearch Family Tree opened in Edge. The Idea here is see if Ancestry can see the CET. I can't show all the details here in this discussion because it will not work with the screenshots I made so I am switching over to an email.

James,
The person IDs are never reused between the Family Tree product and the CET product. All tree person IDs at FamilySearch will always be unique.
The situation you are dealing with here is a font problem. It turns out that Hannah Crumpton in the Tanner Family Tree has an ID of GR5L-3HB (GR"five"L-3HB). Lucia Pastrana in the FamilyTree has an ID of GRSL-3HB (GR"Ess"L-3HB). The two look the same, but are different IDs, leading to different people in different trees.
