:On the 20th of July, after an orderly announcement with the knowledge, will and approval of the High Court, Hanß Jacob Becker, legitimate son of Nicolaus Becker the soldier from Strasburg, was married (Religion according to a Pontificat ?? before the marriage celebrated with us as the parish priest and also the honorable officers of the high court, the honorable ?? to our Protestant doctrine and religion with the next ? given and the same accepted) with maiden Catharina Heimbürger, daughter begot by Diebolt Heimbürger or Gally Diebolt, Citizen in Lampertheim. God the giver of all things, may He give them God’s grace, help and blessing so that they may live spiritually with one another. But may God keep them in good favor, and may He govern their minds and hearts so that He may put them in the right place.

Here is my transcription of the sentence in brackets:
(sr [seiner?]
geben u. dieselbige anzunehmen )Translation:
(according to his religion a "papal" [i.e. catholic], but he has promised both to me the pastor as well as to the honorable bailiff Mr. Wayer? before the marriage that he will __ to our Protestant doctrine and religion and accept it).
The word between nächstem and geben is in the fold and impossible to read fully.
The last sentences are:
Gott der geber alles Guts verleihe Ihnen se [seine] göttlich genad, hülff u. seeg, daß sie geistlich mit einand leben mögen. Dem HochZeiter aber wolle Gott beÿ sm [seinem] guten Verspruch erhalten, u. sn [sein] gemüth u. ♥ [Herz] also regieren, [daß] Er d[en]selbigen ins werk möge setzen.
Translation:
God the giver of all things, may He give them God’s grace, help and blessing so that they may live spiritually with one another. But may God keep the groom with his good promise, and may He govern his mind and heart so that he may bring it into effect.
Note that there are apparently some scribal shortcuts, one for the prefix ver- (versprochen, verleihe) and another for sein- (seiner, seine).

@Ulrich Neitzel , that's fantastic, thank you! I had totally missed the underlying issue of his religion.
