Obituary
In trying to attach unattached people on the record when we changed the person to attach their husband it would work for the first one but when we changed person to a new sister it left the same husband up and we could not add her husband. https://www.familysearch.org/search/linker?ark=/ark:/61903/1:1:QK7L-Y2MG&id=LLWB-GVS this was my wife's account and her family tree but I was the one that sent the feedback. when we did it in the old one it worked OK.

@PaxtonDianne1 Thank you for reporting this bug. I have duplicated the problem and have submitted it to the engineers for review.

If I'm understanding correctly, I've run into the same issue, and I think if you refresh the page it clears it up. However, this is still something that I'd like to see fixed.

I am reopening this discussion. It seems that there is still an issue with Changing Focus Person and refreshing.
If you come across any examples, please send the url and do not attach the source so we can look at it.

I'm using the New Source Linker today. I have my uncle (of obituary)'s grandchildren and great grandchild listed but cannot move them to a correct space with their parents. They will move up but go to my uncle's siblings. I don't have them added in the tree yet, so maybe that is the problem. There is no add or detach label by their names. Only drag & drop, and then cannot move to the correct spot (with parents).
I will check back but if you want ot publish a clarification or send me an email that'd be great too.

@nanlwar, Source Linker has always been somewhat limited in the relationships it can add to the tree. I believe the new person has to be an immediate relative (parent, spouse, or child) of the current focus person. For example, on Telford's obituary, if you choose Karen as the focus person, then you can drag the Spencer-Dunham grandchildren up and it'll "make room" so you can add those grandchildren as Karen's children. If you want to add a grandchild with a different parent, you'll first have to add that parent (or choose him as the focus, if he's already there but living, so I can't see the profile).
If — as often happens — the indexing of the obituary gets the relationships or other details wrong, then I think it's easier to add the profiles the normal way, from an existing profile's Details page, and then fiddle with Source Linker to get the index entries attached to the correct people. From what I can tell, the new Linker doesn't yell quite as loudly as the old one did about attachments that don't match the index.

I had another request today that matches this topic. I opened the source Linker and saw that there was an obituary with additional children to attach. I dragged the first child to the space under children and it opened a line a I could drop the child, then attach it.
I then dragged the second child to the children section, but a new line did not open. The first child turned purple and I dropped the second child on the first and it then appeared as a child and I could attach it.
I will ask the engineers to review this and refine the User Experience so that it is consistent.0 -
If you change the focus person on the right, there are times when the person on the left will not match, especially when that person is not in the indexed record. This is not a bug, since there is nothing to show.
Please use care when trying to align the persons in source linker. It may not always be able to align the family automatically and may require you to move the focus person to get them into alignment.
For more information on changing focus person, see the help in the Source Linker Learning Center.0
