Feedback on removing someone from a FamilyGroup Tree - and other aspects of it
Thanks for letting me know to DELETE someone in order to remove from a FG Tree. That wouldn't have been intuitive for me.
Also, it is scary to Delete someone, not always being sure whether someone is in FG Tree or FS Tree and the fear of Deleting the core person by mistake. (The label of FG tree and FS Tree seem to not always display correctly, (see image below - she was never included in that FG Tree!) for instance when picking someone from RECENTS list.
Also a problem that some Recents lists make status clear - ie Public, Private, A FG Tree -either with the wrong/prior name of the FG, or with the current name of the FG. (Compare the labeling on Tags (for Memories) and on Recents, etc, for instance below)
Below list is good that Public and FG are labelled clearly, (though the name of the FG changed a week ago and isn't updated here from "Test".)
Also, it hadn't been clear to me that the Memories might evolve separately for someone, with separate memories for the FG and the FS version of the person. Can those then be merged?? Might be worth putting a label/ popup saying that the memories added to this version will be shared by the Group - or will NOT be shared with the group - and so you should consider adding to the other version of the person.
Could the DELETE labels be changed so not the same - maybe "Delete" as is currently for FS versions of people, and maybe "Delete from FG tree" or some distinction, making clear which you are deleting, to lower the anxiety of deleting the core person and sources and relationships and memories from the main FS tree by mistake.

Thank you for your thoughts on the Delete button. Recent updates have fixed the issue with the Tree name showing incorrectly for the person listed. So that should help in making sure that you are deleting the correct profile.
Remember that just as in the regular FamilySearch Tree, each person in the Family Group Tree can still be located by his ID number and ultimately restored if the deletion was incorrect. You can find individuals that you deleted in the My Contributions section.
