Looking for anyone doing research in Leipzig?

My grandmother's parents were Johanna (Konig) and Albert Weber. Albert had four brothers and his family built many buildings and smokestacks and owned apartment buildings in Leipzig. Albert was "Missing in Action" in WWI, either in 1915 or 1917. Johanna died in 1951. I have not been able to find any documentation about Albert's family. Albert and Johanna had five children; Gertrude, Hedwig, George, Charlotte and Kate. Kate was my grandmother. Kate and Charlotte (Lottie) were sent to America in their teens. My grandmother told me there was a Weber/Frithof Mausoleum in Leipzig.

Compgen has a compilation of WWI casualties, and there are three Albert Webers from Leipzig listed there. Here is a link to the only one who was listed as MIA -

Another possibility for searching is the Leipzig city directories. You can track the family year by year, either under Albert's name, Johanna (would be listed after 1917 as Wwe = widow), or maybe one of the children's names, most likely George. The link below starts with Leipzig in 1920. You can go forward or backward in years from there.

There are a lot of Leipzig newspapers that have been digitized, and they can be found here -

You can do a full-text search to find articles about the Weber family. The challenge, of course, is that Weber is a very common surname, and it will require a lot of time and patience to sort through what's there.

The challenge with German cemeteries, unlike here, is that the plots are not kept in perpetuity, so it's unlikely you'll find a family grave, unless the family has continued to pay for the site. Compgen also has gravesites, which can be searched here -
