Finding records of biological family
Hi there,
my family is from Korea, and as most of us know, they restrict us from knowing our parents until we are at the age of 18 and above. They give tons of information, but not the names.
Father - born circa 1964 - 1965, broadly South Korea to construction worker father and homemaker mother. Oldest of four children; two males and two females. He has hypertension, likely running in the family. Current residence unknown
Mother - Born circa 1975 - 1976, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea to retired father and homemaker mother. Youngest of three children; all female. Has hypertension like my father. She lives in Pohang-si.
It is likely that I had inherited the Ha surname from my mother, however i do not know the clan. It is likely either to be the Dalseong Ha Clan, due to the fact I was born in Daegu or the Jinju Ha Clan if it was my father's or my grandparents had moved to Gyeongsangbuk-do.
If you need any more information, please comment.
I have been searching through family registers of the Dalseong Ha Clan but no luck so far, she could actually be from Jinju Ha Clan.

I will pass this on to someone who works more with the records of Korea.

I have an update on the research. The Korean records on contacting the family shows my surname was not from the Dalseong Ha Clan but likely from the Jinju Ha Clan as it listed my surname in Hanji : 河.
I hope this information can help on the research!

That is a very good point. Thank you for sharing.

@SebastianHumrick Although this is a group to help people find biological parents, Korean clan organization is probably beyond our skills. It also seems you are very experienced in how to locate, search (and translate) Korean family registers so perhaps posting in the Asia Research Group would give you a better chance of connecting with someone from the Jinju Ha Clan. I am curious as to whether or not you have tried DNA testing. Also, I understand that you can request your U.S immigration paperwork from the Department of Homeland Security to see if there is any information you don't already know.
Sorry, can't be of more help. I wish you luck in your search!

@SerraNola I thank you greatly for the help you have tried. I have checked all of my information, but no luck. Due to the fact I was born in [removed] may be why I cannot find anything on my parents very easily.
I will shortly post the information on Asia research, thank you
