Belgium Census or Population Registries
QUESTION: In my Belgian research, I am having difficulty locating records that list the parents along with their children. In the US I would go to a census records. However, I understand in Belgium they do not have census records, but they have population registries. When I have accessed the registries... I have not found a listing of children with their parents. Could somebody share with me their method for finding families ... so the children do not have to be searched for one by one (whose names would not even known in the first place.)
Any amount of guidance on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much,
Court B.

They do have census records ,altough not for every year and every location/also under different reigns we had changes, for example, during the worldwar 2 no census-snaps were taken, and also not everything they do have is digitalised. If there are census-snaps for the familynames you are searching ,you'll need the location of living;(can be the same as birth) for the target-family, but the census-snapshot list these inhabitants not per alphabetical name, but per adress. So once you have a name, a location and a census-catalogue, basically you need to browse the whole catalogue for that location, neighborhood etc, but if you are lucky they sometimes have a sort of index that provides some insight.Do you have any name in mind along with a possible location?
