Rename Memory/Image Tag
For some unexplained reason I ended up with an odd People Tag name in Memories (to a regular member of my tree), almost 100 times in fact.
The only way I found fixing this is deleting the odd tag in each memory and re-entering it, this is extremely time-consuming.
In the People box I found the "Show All Memories Tagged with This Name" option, which collects them all, but no way of renaming the tag.
Please help.

So it sounds like someone tagged a memory without knowing the PID and they didn't type the name close enough for FamilySearch to figure it out and suggest a PID. So what you are seeing is the text name of an ancestor in quotations? Is that correct? You can fix that by clicking the options to attach the tag to the tree, rather than deleting it and starting over.
Another possibility is that you were looking at a memory without being logged in. FamilySearch logs me out repeatedly during the day. Usually when that happens you don't see the memory but see the login page, however, the memory is a public image and can be seen by anyone who has the link to it (edit: as long as it is not associated with only living profiles). When I shared an image just now from one browser and pasted the url into a different browser where I am not logged in, the image comes up but the tags just have the text names in quotations. The fix to that is logging in.

Thx Gail. Yes, I think this came about by someone not knowing the correct person/PID. But during editing a second person (me probably) made a link between the wonky Tag ID and the correct person. Now this odd tag became a permanent connection between it and the actual person (no longer in quotation marks), and as such I don't get to the option: Attach the Tag to the Tree.
(I am logged in).
Many thanks!

I think someone could give you more assistance if you would post a screen shot of the wonky PID you are seeing. I'm at a loss at this point.

Not sure if the screenshot below makes it any clearer, but here we have a photo with 2 people. The boy is Gottfried, when I hover over Gottfried Lorenz in the "People" panel, the correct face is framed, but with the wrong tag "Die 3".
Someone (possibly me) must have typed or accidentally pasted "Die 3" into the textbox when first tagging Gottfried, without noticing. After that I have tagged 100 more photos & letters, always choosing Gottfried Lorenz from the drop-down list. As a result "Die 3" ended up to be the display name for a all subsequent tags.
The only way to fix it, I found: delete the tag, and retag it. I loathe having to do this 100 times.
For tagged people there is an option to "Show All Memories Tagged with This Name", which gives me all the photos/document tagged "Die 2" but no way of changing the display name for all of them at once.
