illegitimate child-ancestor
My paternal 2nd great-grandfather was born Jan ADMIRAAL [G41F-TQH] I believe in Bergen, Noord-Holland on 22 Feb 1825. I do not have a birth or baptism record. His mother was Dirkje ADMIRAAL 1792-1825 and his father is unknown. I was hoping to find a birth/baptism record.
His mother Dirkje died when Jan was 55 days old, and he was taken in by her parents Klaas Dirksz ADMIRAAL 1759-1830 and Hillegonda Wouters de GROOT-ADMIRAAL 1764-1830 at their home in Alkmaar. Jan was admitted to Burger Weeshius Alkmaar, an orphanage on 7 Nov 1828. On 16 Mar 1832 his uncle Dirk ADMIRAAL, brother to Dirkje, petitioned the orphanage to take custody of Jan.

On 23 Aug 1832 Dirk took custody of Jan. On 22 Jan 1860 Jan married Geertje BOOM [G41F-P6V] in Ursem.

They had a son Willem [my great-grandfather] born 24 Mar 1861 in Ursem. Jan died 7 May 1866.
Geertje then married Cornelis HOPMAN on 3 May 1867 in Ursem. Sometime later Willem ADMIRAAL took on the surname HOPMAN.
My hope is to find a birth/baptism record for Jan ADMIRAAL in the hope that a note was added identifying the father.

You can post links here via cut/copy/paste then post comment, links stay active as hyperlinks, if you type them then the slightest flaw will render them invalid.
The child was not born at 22 feb , but on 25 February in Bergen, and is mentioned as " Jan in onecht"; so born out of wedlock without known father. The mother is mentioned as a servant in the household of Hendrik Bruin living at the Zuider Geest in Bergen. The latter article if translated in google translate, will teach you about the 'Geesten',....Noordergeest , Zuidergeest etc

I did render one link invalid on purpose, but you can still simply cut/copy it to you prompt in google.
Okay, i'm off for the next 13 days.
Correction, the deed itself is from the 25 th , but speaks of the 24 th as date of birth!--Gone!

Hi Nic,
I’m flabbergasted seeing this question. I’ve sourced the profile of your ancestors with all the relevant birth, marriage and death sources. You can find them attached to the profile. You see the tab ‘sources’? There you can find them.
