Free church
What is a free church? I understand Anglican and Methodist. I found a record of a John Davies in Mwnt Wales christening in a free church in Mwnt but the city that is mentioned is about 40 miles away and has an Anglican Church located in the city.

The record linked to is for an Anglican christening at Myddfai, Carmarthenshire. If that is the record you are interested in I am confused how it relates to John Davies or Mwnt or a free church. @AaronArthurDavis is there a different question about John David and David Rowland?

Well this record was found in the bishops transcript for the church in Mwnt in the family search catalogue. The church in Mwnt on Genuki says it is a free church. Looked at the church in Myddfai that was built in the 1200's and is Anglican. So the location of this record in the church in Mwnt did not make sense to me.

Film number 8081131 has four different parishes included.
Item 1 Morfil, Pembrokeshire; starts on image 4
Item 2 Mount (Mwnt), Cardiganshire; starts on image 55. There are no bishops transcripts between 1685-1798 so the parish registers must be used for this parish.
Item 3 Moylgrove Pembrokeshire; starts on image 138
Item 4 Myddfai, Carmarthenshire; starts on image 330
The link you sent: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X1TH-14X this is the record is for a christening in Myddfai and not related to anyone in Mwnt parish.
If you are looking for a John Davies in the Mwnt area between 1685-1799 you will not be able to use the collection titled: Wales Births and Baptisms, 1541-1907.
Search the collection titled: Wales, Cardiganshire, Parish Registers, 1538-1912 https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2075046

@Darris Williams John Davies grandchildren where all christen in 1820 in non-conformist church. His son was in the 1851 census was from Aberporth from 1801.The Methodist Church according to Genuki was not built until after his birth. The parish next to Aberporth is Mwnt Wales and the church is listed to be a free church in the 1500's. Is a free church non-conformist and Anglican? I have also come accorded article that state that this church provided services for both. I have not found how to specifically look into these records. What makes me irritated is that when jkusing the search term John Davies and Mwnt Wales it pulls up records from all over Cardiganshire. I scanned about 33 pages an saw no records out of the church of Mwnt. Would it be advised going through the other 600 pages. How can I narrow the search? My calculation is that the area is separated into tithes, parishes and county records. I am trying to train my mind set to go into Sweden and German records that get more complicated and need to be more specific in location. 42 states or Kingdoms in the German empire, then county, then parishes and then possibly tithes. The migration of the trade of smithing in the feudal system will also be useful in the German states or kingdoms. I find the hints in family search based on the English and the American record keeping system. My concern is that we are not doing the records Justice if we do not take a different approach to the European Records outside of England.

@PABulfinch The director at the family search center is on to not have big not books of notes because he finds it to complicated and overwhelming. He depends on the hints to do the work. My notes for the last 6-12 months would compile over 200 pages but they are indexed as such. Messages in Family search, the community pages, email corrispondence,Sunday minutes, Google Docs, Google sheets, GPT Chat 4 and Google Bard. As the history specialist I am still trying to figure what record to compile for the church archive the will not be redundant. I would rather have families created their own church arcive. Adjusting the ward historian to a specialist much like the family and history consultant.
