Carte de France question, map at FHL
Hello,
I hope someone AT the FHL can help by looking at the maps (944 e7) for France and perhaps send me a scan of a small area to see if they will help me? I'm writing a book about my grandfather's time in WWI along the western front. I need topographical maps that show small villages that existed up to WWI. The catalog shows these are 1:50,000 scale. Looking for maps of Cote d'Or and near the Vosges Mtns.
Thank you.

@Judy Olsen_3 - Have you considered using the FamilySearch Library lookup service - https://www.familysearch.org/en/library/record-lookup-service to have them lookup and copy the map you need?

Yes, thank you. It is a hard copy (book or map) and the person who responded said for some reason they couldn't do that... I'll try again, as we know it's quite likely someone could look and scan a page for a sample, so I can see if it is the type of map that will help me.

The institution/company that created these map still sells them, so copies cannot be made from the ones at the FamilySearch Library. If you have the opportunity to go to the library you would be able to view the maps, but not copy them.
