What are you trying to achieve precisely?
If you want to use someone's username and helper number to help them, you need to click on Help Others. This is not currently available on the new version of the Home Page but is clearly visible if you go back to the old home page.

You can access Help Others in the new version of the home page by clicking on your name. Go down the drop box that appears and Help Others is below sign out. Click on Help Others and a window will open in which you can input the Username and Helper Number.

The advice from @anitamcghee does not work for everyone.
If not then a workaround when using the new home page is to click Family Tree in the top menu then any of Overview, Tree or Person at which point Help Others will appear.

Graham, thank you for this workaround. I am one that cannot get Help Others from my home page or by clicking on my name. But I tried your approach and it worked for me. I feel better about using the new home page now.

My understanding is that this facility will disappear in due course (not certain whether at the same time the old home page is discontinued) and, from then on, you will require a certain permission level to access Help Others which will be limited to FamilySearch employees and missionaries.
However, this does not mean that you cannot access other people's trees going forward. You will need to go to the Helper Resources section. Click the ? inside a circle icon towards the top right and then Helper Resources.
On the right of the next screen, you will see the option to help people. Adding people to this planner is straightforward. If you are unsure, see the guidance at
Hope this is clear. Please ask if you need further guidance.

@Graham Buckell, If I understand your statement about permission level to access Help Others to be limited to FamilySearch employees and missionaries correctly, then you will have some unhappy temple patrons in the future. It is vital that temple workers be able to help patrons with their FS issues without a layer of permission grants or planner hoops to jump through.
Secondly IMO, any T&FH Consultant should be able to login as Helper with the patron’s name, DOB and helper number as is permitted in the current (old) pages.

@Chas Howell The change to needing to get permission from the user before acting as a helper is to protect the privacy of our users. It was too easy for some who has access to member data because of Church callings to gain helper access without the ascent of the member.
Adding to the planner when the person is present is very quick and easy, so I believe that temple workers and others should not find adding to the planner to be a significant hurdle.

Although I've never heard of that being a problem. I get the security reasoning about unauthorized FS Tree access. You do have to have pretty high membership access "rights" to get their helper number. Usually you will need to get it from the patron or their recommend.
Anyway, I'm not sure adding to the planner is always "quick and easy." Often the reason you need access is because the temple patron has an issue and does not remember their password to get into their FS Account. If they don't remember that password they often can't remember how to get into their email account online and their phone is locked in a locker somewhere. And time is usually short. The patron may not even be in the office when things need to be done so they can have a positive experience. I guess time will tell how well this will work.
Thanks for the heads up.

@Chas Howell You might want to touch bases with temple leadership to see if they want to contact the Family History Department directly to discuss these kinds of needs that are unique to temples.
