which group for German communities under French governance

Hi,

I want to clarify where I post questions for the area of Germany under Napoleonic rule for a few years. I am reviewing civil registrations for that period. The printed documents are in French and I can translate them online if needed. However, the names and places are German (sometimes using a French form of the name).

If I want help deciphering handwriting, do I post here or move my request to a French group?

If the record is written in French and you are requesting either a translation and/or a transcription of the record, you should post it in the French community where it will be seen by a large number of community volunteers who speak and translate French.
