Need help with translation of birth record
Do you know why the record is crossed out?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Paula,
It looks like the Pastor accidentally recorded the baptism under the Marriage section of the church book. It likely was reentered in the correct section of the book.
Edit to add translation:
I see the record saying:
On the 25th January a son was born to Johannes Schleuher?, Shepard of the ruler (Herrschaftl{ich} Schäfer), and his wife Regina Margarethe Köhler and baptised on the 26th. The Sponsor is the bachelor Johann Gottfried, only son of the day laborer here, Valentin Struen?, in whose absence the father takes his place. Name (of the child) Johann Gottfried

Hello @PaulaRail1,
Translation:

Baptismal sponsor: bachelor Joh[ann] Gottffried, only son of Valentin ______?, day laborer here, in whose absence the father [Valentin] represented his [the son's] place. Name: Johann Gottfried.

Pastors have (at least occasionally) pre-recorded events. E.g. on https://community.familysearch.org/de/discussion/131453/please-help-with-the-german-words-in-this-marriage-record a marriage record was crossed out as the bride was murdered prior to the planned marriage. I have also seen crossed out baptismal entries with comments like "the child died on the way to the church".
This might be the explanation in this case - but this is not necessarily the case.
Not in all cases (of baptisms) there was a corresponding death entry - but checking this might be worth it,

Thanks for the information. I have seen a lot of crossed out records and wondered why.

Do you think the last name of Johannes could be Schleicher?
