Translation of a marriage record from Dresden
Would someone be willing to translate the attached marriage document from Dresden for me please? It is for Hilmar Selmar Otto Wilhem Schmidt and Rosalie Emma Kuntzsch. I'm particularly interested to learn information pertaining to her and her parents. Thank you so much! The document was found on Ancestry.

Before the undersigned civil registrar appeared today for the purpose of marriage:
(1) the merchant Hilmar Selmar Otto Wilhelm Schmidt, recognized on the basis of his baptismal certificate, Evangelical Lutheran religion, born on the 15th of November 1869 in Altenfeld, Schwarzburg-Sonderhausen, residing in Altenfeld, son of the merchant Friedrich Wilhelm Robert Schmidt, deceased in Altenfeld, and his wife Selma Atlinte, née Bulle, residing in Altenfeld.
(2) the private [person] Rosalie Emma Kuntzsch, divorced [name] Stephan, recognized on the basis of her birth certificate, Evangelical Lutheran religion, born on the 25th of December 1882 in Potschappel near Dresden, residing in Dresden, Gerokstraße 59, daughter of the factory owner Karl August Kuntzsch and his wife Johanne Sophia Rosalie, née Thieme, both residing in Potschappel.

As witnesses were brought in and appeared:
(3) the factory owner Karl Kuntzsch, recognized on the basis of his passport, 52 years old, residing in Potschappel;
(3) the merchant Emil Kuntzsch, recognized on the same basis as witness 3, 24 years old, residing in Potschappel.
The registrar addressed the question to the engaged couple one by one: whether they want to marry each other. The engaged couple answered this question affirmatively and the registrar then said that they are now a legally married couple by virtue of the civil code.

Thank you, Greg, for the location of Altenfeld. Most of my paternal 2nd great grandmother’s family were from there…I feel as though more than half of the population were members of the Wiegand family! A couple of them married Schmidt’s.
