Need German translation of Death and Burial Record
I'm looking at the death and burial of Heinrich Wilhelm Brockmeier who died in Oldenstadt on 2 February 1840. He is the son of Dorothea Maria Heuer (born Licht), who is the widow of Jürgen Christoph Heuer who was a worker in Veerßen (?). Why is the child's surname Brockmeier? Is he legitimate? Film # 102397388, image 629. (It won't upload)

Thank you for your help!

Hello @Joellen McAlister,
The child is illegitimate and took the surname of the alleged father. The indexing for this record is incorrect: Jürgen Christoph Heuer is not the father of this child.
Translation:
No. 4. Brockmeier.
On the 2nd of February [1840] died in Oldenstadt from weakness Heinrich Wilhelm Brockmeier, illegitimate son of Dorothee Marie Heuer, née Licht, widow of the late workman in Veerßen Jürgen Christoph Heuer, and given as father a shepherd in Horn? Johann Heinrich Brockmeier, and was buried quietly on the 5th of the same month. Age: 2 days.
[Written in the column on the right, which is headed with the word "Männliche" = male]: under 1 year [of age].
My comment: This child was buried "in der Stille" = quietly, without the tolling of church bells.
