Hello Kent and Robert,
just an addition to Robert's as usual perfect translation:
I read the military affiliation of Georg Jacob Bott as Grenadier von Gfrtl. (Großfürstlichem) Badischen Leib Infanterie Regiment und der Compagnie H. Obrist von Freistedt.
Leibregiment was the name for the troop whose regimental commander was the ruling sovereign (see https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leibregiment, in German).
Obrist von Freistedt was probably Carl Friedrich Hermann von Freystedt (see https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Friedrich_Hermann_von_Freystedt, in German). He was originally an illegitimate child of Margrave Karl-Friedrich of Baden-Durlach, who later recognized him as his son. He played an important role in the (re-)organization of the Baden military.

Ulrich Neitzel Thanks Ulrich. I did look up this information on our Wikipedia but the de. Wikipedia has a lot more information. Very helpful. I will add this to Georg Jacob Bott's webpage. Knowing some of the history and how to read the German is a huge help in understanding the Baden military. You are amazing!!! Bless you, Kent
