finding cemetary in germany
I will be in Germany in August and have family who died in Nieder Mockstadt, Ranstadt and Duedelsheim about 50 km from Frankfurt North East. I would like to go to the cemetaries in those towns but not sure if it is worth it or if family that has died over 70 years ago are even still there. Just wondering if it is worth it. I will only have a few hours to go there, but know these towns are close to each other. Thanks for any information. Carol Ochsenhirt Hartvigsen

In many parts of Europe, cemetery plots are loaned rather than purchased. In some cemeteries the grave will be automatically cleared after a few decades. In others, the family can keep paying to renew the lease.
In 2018 I went to a town in Germany where I had ancestors, and the oldest graves in the cemetery were from the late 19th century. Some (but probably only a small proportion) of the older headstones dating back to the 17th century had been preserved in a wall beside the church. I didn't find any trace of my ancestor who had died in 1890.
I suggest contacting a local genealogical society or the owner of the cemetery (i.e. a church or local government authority) and asking if there are plot maps for the cemetery
