Robert, With each entry this little story gets more interesting. Thanks for this beautiful translation. Kent
Elisabetha Zeißloff was born to Schultheiss (schoolmaster and former mayor) Hanss Matthias Zeissloff and Eva Margaretha Cammerer on 9 April 1682. She married Johann Henrich Hofer, of the Reformed religion, citizen and farmer in Graben 23 Jan 1714. On the 30 April 1714, Elisabetha, in the 6th hour after her child's birth, where she had soon lost her external senses amid convulsions and had remained in that state until the end, died without having been reconciled with her sister. See the local burial record volume to learn how deformed her corpse was.
Two of Hanss Matthias Zeissloff's children lived to adulthood: Elisabetha and her sister Anna Margaretha. That being the case the sister she was at odds with was Anna Margaretha Zeißlof born 15 Jan 1664 and died 12 April 1731. Anna was 18 years older than Elisabetha. She married Johann Andreas Rösch and they had 11 children. At the time of Elisabetha's death her sister Anna Margaretha was five years past the birth of her last child or 51 years old.
