How can I locate immigration record or find out where exactly in Baden germany she is from?
I am looking into Theresa Hummel LVZF-9HK and specifically who her parents are.
I know she is from Baden Germany, but nothing specific beyond that. I also know from her obituary that she immigrated when she was 18 and arrived in St. Louis in the spring on 1854.
Her birthdate has some discrepancies. Most census records state October 1836. Her obituary states she was born on October 6, 1835. The Minnesota death record has her birthdate listed as October 30, 1834
Based off of records from her death it appears her fathers name was Reinhardt Hemmel/Hummel/Hummal?

This wiki article provides some information that might be helpful. Check any available US records for clues. If Theresa has siblings, research them as well.

Do you know mother and father's name? That's usually in the obit. Always leave a link to the FS search.

What church did they go to? Often Germans went to a German church and sometimes the pastor would write down where people were from. It was a common practice and is seen especially in marriage records although also in baptismal records.

It looks like she may have arrived April 23 1855 on the ship Samuel M Fox which departed from Le Havre France.

She was the only Hummel listed on the ships log
If you can locate the departure record for that ship in Le Havre it may say what village she came from.
