help with transcribing
Hi, I'm new to this German handwriting so please be gentle. I am attaching a record for a family member that opened a big brick wall, as the indexed records of one year ago became available. I can see what was indexed but wonder what other information can be gleaned from it.
I can see the child's name, parents, dates of birth and baptism, and place of baptism. I think it says his father Anton was from Steinbach, but does that mean they live there now, or that is where Anton was born? Does this record indicate where Franciscus was born? I can pick out the names in the godparents column, but is there more information there than that? I included the heading of the page to correspond with the information. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hello @BonniePeterson1,
Here is the transcription of the record you requested, column by column:
First column (birth date): Den 28ten Septemb. abends um 10 Uhr.
Second column (baptismal date): Den 29ten Septem. von Herrn Pfarrer Franz Tschimmel.
Third column (name of child): Franciscus Josephus Antonius.
Fourth column (names of the parents and where they are from): Steinbach. Dem Stückmann Anton Ludwig von seiner Eheg[attin] Elisabetha geboren Exner aus Greenzendorf [= Grenzendorf].
Fifth column (names of the godparents): Lev[ans]: Joseph Knauer, Stückmann. Test[es]: Benjamin Mechsner, Stückmann, biede aus Steinbach, und Theresia des Anton Schwarzer Stückmanns Ehegattin aus Rothfloessel [= Rothflössel].
Sixth column (number of the baptism): 125.
My comments: Steinbach and Rothflössel are communities within the parish of Mittelwalde. At the time Franciscus Josephus Antonius was born his parents were living in Steinbach and you can presume that he was born at home in Steinbach on 28 September and then baptized the following day in the church in Mittelwalde.
"Levans" was the person who lifted the child from the baptismal font.
"Testes" are the witnesses.
