Please help me understand this entry from 1696 in Kork, Baden, Germany
I understand that an illegitimate son has been born to Hanss Weiss and Catharina. I think she was a servant to Hanss but not sure. Also I am trying to decipher where she is from. I've tried searching the place as I read it and also the surname but have found nothing. I think Catharina's parents are Maria F(P)iss and Benedict Zirach. Not sure if I read them right but that was the closest I could get.
Any help with this entry would be wonderful.
Thanks, Terry
The entry I am looking at is enclosed in a yellow rectangle.

Terry,
now first I realize that the record is from Kork, Baden. And I find Neumühl close to that place.
Still, it seems that Maria is from a quite distant place; Landsberg in Bavaria is about 180 miles to the east which was quite a distance at that time.

Hello Terry,
this one is hard, because of the script but even more because of the non-standard text. This is what I read:
Translation:
An adulterous ___ __ from Brichlingen?, district of Landsberg in Bavaria, Maria _öß, her father Benedict Zirach and the mother Catharina, has had ungodly intercourse with Hans Weiss, with whom she served 13 years (as an innkeeper in Neumühl), and her **** child has been called Antonius in baptism. Sponsors: the adulterous father, who denied it, Hans Weiss, innkeeper. Hans Seiler_ in Neumühl. Veronica __ in Neumühl
Comment:
You are correct that this is an illegitimate birth; to my understanding the mother is Maria and her parents are Benedict and Catharina. The alleged father of the child is Hans Weiss, an innkeeper, who, however, denied fatherhood and is listed as baptismal sponsor!
I couldn't find a place called Brichlingen. Landsberg is a town in Bavaria (https://www.meyersgaz.org/place/20010066). There are several places called "Neumühl" in Bavaria, but none seems to be close to Landsberg.

Thank you very much. Landsberg is a long ways away. I tried to find somewhere closer but failed. Is Beyerland another name for Bavaria?
The second word that you weren't sure of is, I think, Hur, referring to an unwed mother.
The really interesting thing is that the child dies soon after and Hanss Weiss is recorded as the father in that record too.
