Help with Taufen symbols & abbrev's

I am looking at some Taufen records from late 1700s in Vandsburg. They are full of abbrev's and symbols. I recognize "son", "daughter", "died", but there is one that follows the "+" death symbol that I am not familiar with. It resembles a script "D", but not exactly.

Would someone please me out with this?

I would also like confirmation that these records primarily list the father's name and whether the child was a son or daughter.

Hello @Robt_Nielsen,

The "d" symbol you are asking about is a scribal convention for the word "den" = the; on the. This scribal convention almost always appears before a date.

So in the two examples you marked you would read them as follows:

died (on) the 28th of November 1782.

died (on) the 20th of February 1780.

Yes, the records appear to list the father's name and then an "S" or a "T" for son or daughter respectively.
