This may be my 5th GGF, but am not sure of the complete transcription/translation. Please help.

THE FINAL LINE IS CONFUSING TO ME BECAUSE OF THE "8 YR OLD" REFERENCE.

Sohn, nahmens Johann gegen 8 Jahr alt.

Translation:

Died 29 July 1769, buried 6 August

Johann Engel of Seeth, aged 37 1/2 years , leaves behind a

son, named Johann almost 8 years old.

@Ulrich Neitzel Thanks for that clarification. It’s possible this is also the father of Behrend (Berendt), born 22 Jan 1770 (5 months later), who was my 4th GGF. I will look for Behrend's marriage record to see whether his parents are identified.
