What is the occupation of this man?

This is a death record for a young child on January 30th 1758, David Zuanten, when 4 years old. These records are from Wangeritz. Third line down in the middle. I’m curious to what the word before Zuanten is. Is it Schutzend/mayor? Or Schaefer? It is missing a z so I’m guessing it’s not mayor, but I would like to know what it is. Thank you.
