I was a little confused at first since my initials are CET. ๐Ÿ˜ I'm on board with the correct meaning.

My question is, I've been using the tree for years now and have never had any problems with any of my many cousins. Is this tree option mainly for people who do experience problems or just want to be a little more private?

@CarolT.216 I don't think it so much a privacy thing but more so a desire for greater control. The FamilySearch Family Tree is collaborative which can lead to errors [real or perceived] to individuals in someone's line.

Also with a CET it is pretty easy to get other family members to share and be involved with a family's research. They would be able to add/edit individuals including living individuals.

With a CET you could create a research 'group' for a specific locale or an organization's membership [alumni, church, etc]

@CarolT.216 Thank you for using early access CET and offering feedback. As @Mark McKenzie_1 stated above, a CET could be used for various reasons beyond the control you have over it. You can create a CET of persons completely unrelated to you.
