Maiden Name
Can anyone tell me if the men in the 1700's have maiden names? Like the women.

I've never heard of men having maiden names at any time period. However, there is a custom in some parts of Germany where the men may take on the "farm name" of the wife. Perhaps this is what you've encountered. Read more here -
