I'm looking for anything about the Koenigs in LaSalle, IL. In the 1894 city directory there are 7 d
4 of the men were born between 1837 and 1848 and I'm wondering if they could be brothers: Frank 1837 , Andrew 1842, Christopher 1843, and Fred (or FW) 1848.

Per MyHeritage, Anton Drevniak(/Drewniak) was born June 8, 1843 in Flatow, West Prussia, Germany, and married Ottilia Tensz in 1869. Anton passed away in LaSalle, Illinois on February 4, 1893. I found a connection between Frank and Anton, who are listed as brothers; Frank (also born in Germany) married Ellen (born 1842 in Michigan), and they lived in San Francisco in 1880.

I'm still looking for information about the Koenigs. But also does anyone know where the personnel records for the Matthiessen and Hegeler Zinc Co. are kept? The company went out of business in LaSalle, IL 1978.

Hello @PaulaBurgan . Have you tried here: https://archon.lib.niu.edu/?p=collections/findingaid&id=167
There is a contact on lower left side that may provide more information about the collection. I will also keep looking at other ideas.
Keep us posted on your research!

I really appreciate your help. He didn't enter a middle initial on his naturalization form or on his marriage license certificate. Without that it's hard to proceed; so many Frank Koenigs. Also need his city of origin. I'd also like the city of origin for my other great-grandfather, Anton Drevniak, who also worked for M.-H. Both Anton and Frank died just before 1900. P.

@PaulaBurgan Is this your Frank?
If so, probate records might be a way to get birth and death info.
Here's a couple of links to possibly try:

https://www.probaterecords.org/illinois/
Continuing to search as well!

Do we know the date of this newspaper announcement? Frank died Jan. 19, 1897. Thanks. P.

I found his name in the probate records for LaSalle County, vol. 54, 1897. The numbers after his name are 29, 260, 261, 360. I don't know what they refer to or how to find the record. Can you point me to an instruction page?

I finally figured out the numbers and got the record. But now I need to find the inventory and adjustment records. I don't know where to look. Thanks. P.

Many thanks. It turns out I found Anton's birth info just last night on Family Search along with their wedding date record. However, Frank was not Anton's brother. Frank Koenig married Anna Orthel in 1871 in Illinois. Anton may have had a brother Frank, but not the one I was looking for.

Not all Koenigs kept the German version of the name. My aunt's maiden name was King, and I only had to take her line back to her grandfather to find they had changed it from Koenig.
