Have you tried:
Northern Ireland
Direct
Government Services
.
Research family history at the General Register Office NI (GRONI)
.
Go to GRONI online
https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/services/go-groni-online
.
Search GRONI's online records
https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/search-gronis-online-records
.
You will most probably NOT find the "Death"; as, Death Registrations are ONLY available up to 50 years ago [eg. up to about 1970 (or, 1969) now].
.
I hope this helps.

There is a birth record for Joseph Nicholl with a DOB of January 19, 1908 and location of birth shown as Ballylummin, Ahoghill, County Antrim on irishgenealogy.ie as the following address.
There are several people with the name "Sarah Turtle" recorded as being born in Ballymena around that time, so some more details would be required in order to determine which Sarah you are referring to.
As @Brett . mentioned above, the death and even marriage records will be a little more difficult to pin down as they are relatively recent.

Ireland Civil Registration records of marriage indicate/reveal the name of the fathers of both parties--unless born out of wedlock.
Out of (i.e.) the possible Joseph Nichol[l]s marriages for the right time period, from about 1826 to 1845 (or later if necessary), try to narrow down the search by performing a search for each possible candidate by county, by time period and by the absence of the name of his father (again, if your Joseph was born out of wedlock).
So, for example, let's say you narrow it down to 7 "Joseph Nichols". Ask yourself the question: Does one of those seven marriages show a "Joseph" without the father's name (suggesting a birth out of wedlock)? If so, that "Joseph" should be considered over all the others, first.
IF it is not known that your Joseph was born out of wedlock, then you will need to continue your search for his death among all possible likely Joseph Nicholls in Ireland (or the records of the country in which he lived--if emigrated).
Best records to search for birth origins in and outside of Ireland, include: probate records (see the NI online wills search--here; look for any "Nicholls" will entry from i.e. the Ahoghill [Co. Antrim] region for possible father of your Joseph Nicholls), obituary, naturalization records (if emigrated), funeral home/mortuary records, military records, 1911 census record (rarely reveals more than county of birth), death certificate, tombstone, family Bible, personal journal/dairy/letters, sometimes passenger lists and etc.
John and Brett's excellent suggestion to search Ireland's Civil Registration of marriages and deaths are the best next-step in your research--at either website. But as Brett points out, keep in mind that www.Irishgenealogy.ie is a free online lookup service but with some date restrictions.
Hope this helps and wish you success in your quest to find your Joseph Nicholls' parentage and .

Hill,
I stopped by, here once again and decided to check Ancestry to see if they hold anything if interest to you for this Nicholl Family. Here's what I found: Login to Ancestry.co.uk (you can do so at a local FHC or public library at very least and paste this link into the URL box at top: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/family-tree/person/tree/27184323/person/410158777949/facts
This person's personal family tree mentions some things about this family... which might give you another lead or clue.
