Double Bind on Users in Latin America -- Catalog vs. FamilySearch Centers

There are two realities in Latin America and other countries around the world. The new catalog now graphically shows the problem. In some countries, such as Argentina, nearly all the records in the new or old catalog are "restricted." This means that they cannot be seen by any outside of a FamilySearch Center. The double bind comes with the fact that few of the listed FamilySearch Centers actually operate. You can see this clearly on the FamilySearch Center map.
So most of the records needed by potential patrons are locked up and totally unavailable. If you look at the map and enter Buenos Aires as a search, you will find 36 locations are either listed as open one time in the week or have no times listed and a phone number. Because I work with Spanish speaking consultations for the Salt Lake FamilySearch library, I get frequent reports that the FSCs are closed or unavailable. Now, in the new catalog, we can see the problem directly. There are buttons to view the records online or in a FSC. In Buenos Aires province and in the city, this shows almost no records available with going to a FSC. Any suggestions?Comentários

@James Tanner Thank you for reporting your search issue that you are having with the new catalog. We are aware of this issue of not pulling all the records that are available for viewing. We are actively working on solving this issue with the search function.
