May I Edit Errors?

In searching with the key word "Heers" in Polk Co, Iowa, one of the search returns was a Deed record. The AI has incorrectly read the word "acers" (as in a unit of land) as Heers.

From the record page, may I edit the incorrect reading? Or provide feedback?

Thank you.

For the present there is no provision for correcting transcription errors. These are artifacts from the machine learning phase and may self correct over time as the AI "gets smarter."

When you put a URL on a line by itself, the Community platform corrupts the URL. Rescued URL: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-C3W9-V9Y6-6?view=fullText&keywords=Heers

I don't think we can edit OUT a name yet. We can add a name, I know. I'll be watching, too, to see if someone with more knowledge has a better reply.

@Kimball G. Carter What are you trying to add a name to? To a search? To a document in the results?

To a document in the results.

I am not quite sure I understand what you are wanting to do. If you are talking about correcting a transcription that has either mistranscribed or missed a name that appears in the document, we do not currently offer that feature. We recognize the infallibility of the machine reading of the text and are working on it but, as I am sure you will agree, it is still an improvement that has made millions of images available for researchers.
