How do you find the baptism and confirmation date of an indivdual in your family after they pass awa
Sadly, this person was a sibbling of a member. The person passed away recently, had been baptised into the Church of Jeasus Christ of Latter Day saints about 20 years ago. Hhowever, he became astranged with his family and near his death he was no longer attending church. Can some one please help to tell us how to find the date of the baptism and confirmation?

His baptism and confirmation will automatically appear in Family Tree after his death date is added to his Church membership record which will make the copy of his Family Tree profile based on his membership record public instead of private.
There are at least two ways to accomplish this. If you know where he last lived and if he passed away recently you could contact the ward clerk of the ward he was in and supply the death information to him. If by chance his record never got moved to that ward, if you give the ward clerk sufficient identifying information, the ward clerk should be able to request the record to pull it into that ward then add the death information.
You also could contact FamilySearch support and provide evidence of death such as copy of his death certificate or an obituary and see if they can pass the information onto the membership department so the death information can be added to his record.

Thank you Gordon Collett for your reply. I think the issue is that the Bishop of his ward has not been notified and therefore, his records have not been updated. There are all good items the family to know and be able to do. I am sure they will help.

When my mother-in-law passed away in December 2018, I waited to see her information updated to deceased by the ward she lived in. I finally contacted her bishop & he said the information had been sent in & that it might take a bit to update. As I kept checking, there was a duplicate records generated with only the updated information about her death. (It had vital info, but no sources, etc.) I just merged the duplicate person # into my original to complete the information on her.

I called Church membership department (used general Church phone number and was transferred). Gave them information on my brother and they looked up his obituary online and made the change. It was in FamilySearch minutes later.

You can also add the death yourself to your family tree.
