I am looking for Issachar (Essachar) Huntington, b: 1728 in NJ, son of Simon & Thankful, wife of Pho
Is there any evidence of him serving in the Revolutionary War?

If Issachar did die in Ohio you would want to wonder if he hadn't fought in the Revolutionary War and been paid in land in Ohio. That is a logical assumption. It is surprising, if that is true, that nothing is found to support this in records at Ancestry.com or FamilySearch. Their Revolutionary War records are far from complete but usually some reference to the soldier will be found at one or the other of these sites. The logical place to check for his service is Fold3 which is a pay site that you can access for free at an Family History Center. Since it is a site devoted to military records and the answer - for better or worse - should be found there.

Thank you. It was very kind of you to respond. But I have already checked with Fold3. There is an I. Huntington on the list, however, in seeing his signature, it may very well be a "J", and not an "I". J.Huntington was a Brig Gen in the RW.
Does the Library of Congress hold more info on the soldiers?

The Library of Congress might have published books on the topic but for the documents you need to see the records at the War Department and National Archives. Since most all are digitized now and you have checked Fold 3, FamilySearch and Ancestry it is looking like Issachar didn't fight in the war or get a pension or it should have shown up. But that is just my opinion.
