Is the wife deceased?

My question concerns record #34 for Joh. Henr. Jasper. There is some kind of marking in front of the wife's name. It could partially be a cross; so I am wondering if that is an indication that the wife is deceased?

Yes, I would agree that the wife is deceased. Note that the entry is in Latin: "Joh. Henr. Jasper conjux +ae Cath. Grever" where conjux means husband and +ae is an abbreviation for defunctae = "of the deceased", ae being the feminine genitive. Entry #9 two pages before shows the corresponding masculine form "+i".

Thank you, @Ulrich Neitzel, for explaining +ae and +i. This is good to know for future reference.
