Translation of Baptismal Record
The child born Gesche is shown as a boy in the index. I believe this should be a girl. Is there any indication as to why they show this child as a boy. Also need to verify birth date and baptismal date.
Does it show the father's occupation?

@DebbieGratton, it always helps to include a link to where you found the record online, as the image quality is often better there and it allows us to compare the layout and handwriting with other entries. This record states:
On the 21st [was born to] Michael Dammann, cottager (and day laborer) [Häusling means both, according to Ernest Thode] in Nottensdorf, and his wife, Alheit born Höft, a daughter, [who was] baptized on the 27th [and] named Gesche.
The month and year are not included in the snippet.
You are correct and the index is wrong; the child is a girl, as indicated by the word "Tochter" (daughter).
