Hi All, Greetings from Northern Ontario!
I am wondering if anyone may be able to help me with Michael Wannamaker KC1T-F7R and specifically his wife Delila Ann Bounter M48L-B35 ? They are my 4X Great Grandparents. Delila is one of my brick walls. I have found records with her maiden name as Bontar, Bonter, Banty and Bauty, first name sometimes Delia, and several suggestions she came to Ontario, Canada from "New York" and "United States" in 1840. With estimated birth dates from 1817 to 1824, so far I haven't been able to find any record of her in The States, though I suspect she may be connected to one of the Banta clan as many of them were UEL's and settled in and around Ameliasburgh, Prince Edward Co. Ontario where she married Michael Wannamaker in 1841.
I have only been Tree building for a few years and am at a bit of a loss sourcing records for Delila, and would dearly love to find the names of her parents. Any tips you may be able to provide would be so greatly appreciated!
Cheers!

BrentManners Before 1847, no births were recorded by New York State. Upon looking at her records, it appears that she was Methodist, I wonder if she was married in the Methodist church and if they had marriage records? I was looking at her marriage place, I am not all together sure it is correct as British Colonial America would have been before this time and was not part of Canada. Under her husband there is a marriage record, have you looked at it to see if it lists her parents? You would need to go into the record itself to see. I can understand your brick wall for her parents as I am not seeing any unless perhaps in this marriage record. Maybe, start researching the Banta Clan and see what you find with that.
Regards,
Shannon
