i can only speak english, will this site be any value to me
Hi I have a grandfather Charles (CHUCK) Lantz born in Smaland, Sweden, born Sep 1862 that came to USA in 1888 met his wife Jennie and had 7 children, applied for homestead in Phippen in 1905. He died in April 14 1906 in Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada.
I have found his marriage certificate and naturalization records, but nothing more that will help me find other records. No passenger list etc.

Hello,
This group is mainly for Swedish speakers, so that they can get answers in their own language, but of course everyone will be answered, also English speakers.
Could you share your grandfather's records, what you have found? Charles is not a Swedish name and Småland is a large county in southern Sweden. So if you have anything other information, it would help in your search.

You have a problem here.
There is no such place as Örebro, Småland, Sweden. There is the Örebro municipality and also the Örebro province. then there is the Småland county. Örebro municipality is in Örebro province, but Småland is not in that area. Places in Sweden are identified in what province they belong.
That Örebro most likely means province which contains about 62 parishes.
Could you provide any links to your sources?

H i the best I can do is Smalandsstenar Sweden, this is what someone else has, so hopefully that will help. I do remember reading on one of the ancestry sites that Orebro Sweden had listed some baptism names, but haven't got to that yet, always keep hoping some day someone will add to his name, but s o far no luck. There are lots of Lantz's in the USA and also Nova Scotia I have corresponded with HB on ancestry.ca and his family is very well documented and came over in the 1700 and says "So unfortunately, I'd think that your Charles Lantz was definitely not of this famly. Although Lantz seems to be a german name and not Scandinavian. Your grandfather's family may have come to Sweden from Germany at some point". The Nova Scotia Lantz's show up in the Thruline for DNA in my family tree, I did not think they belonged to me.
Any help would be great,
Thanks
Finnette
