Same flags. Why different scores?

Although we certainly don't know the exact algorithm for the DQS score and ratings, I would think that it is based not only on having fewer problems that are flagged, but also on having more sources to substantiate the conclusions on the profile. The sister with 5 sources has a High rating and the one with 4 sources has a Medium rating. Perhaps the additional source was just enough to bump her from an 89.5 to a 90.5 (imagining a scoring system where 90 is the cutoff between Medium and High).

That does seem to be the only difference. I'll have to try to find another source so that both have five.

But there is one more rather subtle difference. I'm pretty sure the second one was also had a medium score before I dismissed a data conflict due to one her sources having an incorrect birth date. Could that have forced a recalculation of her score? I didn't do anything to the first profile. Could that medium have been calculated months ago, been cached, then the routine was updated, but the score will remain the same until something occurs on the profile? Are those scores calculated each time a profile is opened? Or do they save processing power by calculating once and then only if the profile is edited?

Nope. I deleted her birth date which created a fourth flag. Then put it back in with no change from Medium. The I made her born in 1911 instead of 1910 which dropped her score to Low because her birth was then after her christening. Changing it back to 1910 put the score back at Medium.

I found a confirmation record for her and added that as a fifth source. Still Medium.

Perhaps the absence of a marriage event or any detail on the husband of the "Medium"- scoring sister?

@Gordon Collett Thanks for the feedback.

@FrankLittle is correct, the lack of a marriage date, and place should impact the quality score for:https://www.familysearch.org/en/tree/person/details/GX68-YZT

We found when setting up the Segment for Norway for this time period, most individuals will have a marriage date, and place.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the information. I did add her husband's name but apparently a marriage date and place is needed as well. Those I have not been able to find yet.
