Problems Viewing The 1939 Register

Please refer to Florence Lort (GHDL-PKB), her husband William Long (GFDW-V36) and her brother Alfred Lort (GFDW-KTV).

For Florence and William I have a Research Help for the 1939 Register, and when I open the record information, I receive the following message "We're unable to show this record. This record can only be displayed on certain accounts. FamilySearch must honor the agreements we have with our partners, record owners, and internal policies.".

For Alfred I was able to view and attach the 1939 Register source on 3 Jan 2026.

This same problem exists on several different computers with Firefox, Chrome, Microsoft Edge and in the FamilyTree app on my phone. Also at an affiliate library.

Please advise.

Cheers and Happy New Year!

@DavidNCraig I was able to reproduce exactly what you were saying, and feel it is probably a bug since one of the three can be opened. I am going to send this up the line to see if it can be dealt with. Hopefully, we will get an answer soon either way.

@sc woz I am experiencing similar problems viewing British Colonial Indian records. See the Research Helps for Winifred Annie Weguelin (9JCP-97W). These helps are duplicates of Christening sources attached to her children. When attempting to load the source, this is the error message.

    Error loading source: /ark:/61903/1:1:HGJ5-TSW2

    Thanks, David

I assume you are using a Church account in getting these as Research Helps. Using a public account from home nothing relating to the 1939 National Register is offered. I believe the only way for those who are not (LDS) Church members even to be aware they are available through FamilySearch is to be at a FSC. I have not attended one for several years, but used to utilise much of my time whilst there to attach 1939 N.R. records to Family Tree profiles, which I could then see (and still can) from home. I now have to rely on others attaching these sources to the profiles in which I have an interest!

Incidentally, I can see the record you have attached to Alfred Lort and hope you can get the problem resolved, in order to add records from the collection to the other individuals in question.
