I have a marriage record on 5 November 1797 of Jonas Bengtsson to Maria Ericsdotter. It states she was from Backa but when I go to that farm I can't seem to find her. I know I am missing something. Please help.
Here is the first clerical record where I have them together. They are with the first family at the top
In the 1791-1795 Household Records, Maria is listed as a piga with the family of Bengt Svensson (her future father-in-law). Her future husband, Jonas, is also listed with the family as a son. I suspect that the residence for her in the marriage record (Backa) is incorrect because she is still with the same family in 1796-1800-listed first as a piga with a birthdate of 1767. In the "move-out" column she is then listed as "Gift = married". "Pig(a)" is crossed out and she is moved up to just underneath Jonas' name and she is then listed as "Hustru", and it appears from this record that her birth date gets changed to 1769! Jonas and Maria then move to Noltorp.
Looking in Noltorp you can see them with a daughter, Maria (b. 1800). Thanks. I can see that connection. I was hoping that as I went backwards from where you showed me that I could find more records but I was unable to.
Moving foward. On FamilySearch she is listed as dying 23 January 1844 in Visnums-Kil but there is no record for that.
I lose her in 1818 and I am not sure where she goes. It looks like she moves to Edskogen but I don't see a farm named that.

I didn't follow her back to make sure that it is the same Maria Ersdotter. Her husband is Lars Swensson and there is a daughter, Anna, who is his daughter but not Maria Ersdotter's. In the birth record, the farm where Anna is born is Eds Hagen, so this is probably the same Maria Ersdotter.
Oh well I totally missed that. Thanks for helping me figure that out and find her again.
She did marry Lars Svensson after Jonas Bengtsson died. Lars' first wife, Annicka, is from the family who I am working with.
