First I wanted to give a big shout out to the programmers and designers who made the CET's possible. Totally caught me by surprise. I personally think this is a game changer for FamilySearch.

On the a profile page of my CET you are presented with a list of search options (image 1). I know a Find a Grave record exists for this profile, so I want to attach it. I click on Family Search to see if the record pulls up.

On the search results page, the main navigation at the top switches to the FST navigation (image 2). The link to Records is highlighted indicating I'm searching Records. I would think (IMO) the CET navigation set should be here. (image 3)

As it stands now, if I click that Records link, it will take me to a search page that only allows attaching records to the FST, not the CET. (image 4)

Because the Find a Grave record did not pull up in the search results, the navigation at the top (as it currently stands) takes me to a place to search records. I search for the find a Grave record for my profile and find it. It says "Attach to Tree". (image 5) Great, I try to attach it to my tree. However, it only has the option to attach it to the FST (image 6) I try to attach it using the PID of my profile (G176-7LV). Results not found. (image 6)

There are 2 ways I can see this being accomplished.

Change the navigation on the "Records Results" page to be inline with navigation in the other CET sections. This will remove the link to "Records" all together. This will prevent users from inadvertently searching records first to attach to the CET. Leaving users with the only option to search for records via the "Search Records" section on the profile page. Which will prevent unintentionally switching between FST and CET.

Allow the "Find a Match in the Family Tree" to pull results from both the CET and FST.

From what I can tell, (and maybe I missed something), there isn't a way to attach a record to a profile, you have to attach a profile to a record. Navigating the site, as it stands, only allows you to attach records to FST profiles. Maybe a 3rd option could be to give the user a choice. (image 7 and image 8)

I've seemingly uploaded a GEDCOM and the CET shows when I go to CETs. But when I click on it (https://www.familysearch.org/groups/research-tree/9MMW-2N4%29 the screen just flashes in never ending shadows and nothing actually loads.

This is on multiple browsers on both Windows 11 (Edge, Firefox) and Android (Chrome).

I was invited to another CET and got a pop up when I tried to join which states, "You are allowed to be in only 10 groups. You must leave one of the groups you are in to join this group." This is an insufficient number of groups for me to be in.

My team is working on ten projects in CET at the moment. We have several projects that have not been uploaded yet.

In addition, my team has 252 trees in Genealogies that need to be transferred to CET. I expected to be in all of those groups.

So I just got notified that I was accepted into the CET test. I went to the CET page and was surprised that I could only upload a gedcom, and the upload button was greyed out. As I was reading the getting started page I noted that it looked just like the Family Groups page. I left one of my 10 Family Groups and now the Upload Gedcom button is blue. That would indicate that CET groups are counted along with the Family Groups with a limit of 10 groups total.

If the limit is 10 total groups across Family Groups, Family Groups with trees and CET Groups…that will not be enough.

I don't personally need to create a CET for my entire ancestry, much of it is correct in FamilySearch. But there are a few places where I'm working on brick walls or the FamilySearch tree is so confused that I need to keep my research separate until it is all clear. That means several CET groups.

If I am sharing those problem spots with different parts of my family, different researchers will need to access different tree pieces…

If I was interested in building a DNA tree down from a single ancestor, that would be another tree entirely…

and what if as a consultant I am asked to help someone with their CET? I understand that Helper mode doesn't include access to Family Groups. Does it include access to CETs?

Just for an idea, I have 51 trees that I own on Ancestry.com and another 34 that I have been invited to help with. I don't know that you need to allow that many groups…but 10 total across Family Groups and CETs is simply not enough.

Is it possible to add some type of visual clue that the person page your are looking at is in the CET and not the FT (and visa versa). Perhaps just appending a "CET" label after her person's PID at the top of the page would be enough. That should generally be visible.

It's just too easy to get confused when you are switching back and forth between CET and FT.

I have been invited to join. I joined, received an email asking me get started. I uploaded a gedcom and it processed. I click on it and it takes me to a new screen that looks like the attached. Nothing to see, click on, and I can't move forward. Am I doing something wrong?

I've been approved to test this and have successfully uploaded two different GEDCOM files from Ancestry. However, my two trees from this data won't load. I've tried using different browsers, using different wifi, and clearing the cache/cookies on my browser. Is anyone else running into this issue? I'm thinking it could be something disabled in my account even though I've been approved to test this.
